Celebrate International Women’s Day at the Feminist Icon Freida Kahlo exhibit at The Dali.
On Wednesday, March 8, the League of Women Voters of the St Petersburg area will gather in the The Dali Museum’s Cafe Gala from 4:00 until museum closing at 5:30. Come celebrate with League members on this auspicious day. No need to purchase a museum ticket to visit the Cafe or the Museum Store.
Attendees are encouraged, if they wish, to arrive early to purchase a museum ticket and visit the powerful Freida Kahlo exhibit. If anyone encapsulated the 2017 theme of International Women’s Day, “Be Bold for Change”, it was Freida Kahlo.
IMPORTANT NOTE ON PARKING: Due to racetrack construction, the Museum parking lot will be closed on March 8. FREE PARKING is available at the Dolphin parking lot, 180 2nd Ave North East (just past the St. Petersburg Museum of History), with FREE SHUTTLE SERVICE to and from The Dali.
ABOUT THE CAFE: Cafe Gala is designed to create an educational as well as culinary experience by introducing visitors to Spanish food and history. Named in honor of Salvador Dali’s wife Gala, the casual eatery embraces the heritage of Salvador Dali by presenting a menu of light fare with a Spanish theme. Tapas and small plates of appetizers are a specialty, along with traditional pastries, soups (gazpacho and caldo gallego), salads and sandwiches.
Kahwa local roasted coffee is served, including espresso, cappuccino and macchiato. A flan-like dessert – Crema Catalana – tops the pastry selections, along with Tiramisu and Mantecados (Spanish cookies). A select offering of beer and wine is available, featuring the Cafe’s signature Cava Rosado (Spanish rose champagne).
